Kodandaram files Implied Petition in HC on farmers’ suicides

Telangana Political JAC Chairman Prof. M Kodandaram has given a shock to Chief Minister K Chandhrashekar Rao by filing Implied Petition in the High Court on farmers’ suicides in the Telangana State. Kodandaram filed this Petition on behalf of Telangana Vidyavanthula Vedika on Tuesday.

It may be recalled that a week ago, Vyavasaya Jana Chaithanya Samithi (VJCS) filed a petition in the High Court on farmers’ suicides in the State. In its petition, VJCS alleged that the TRS government’s policies were driving the farmers to commit suicides. The incidents of farmers’ suicides were taking place due the State government’s inaction. The High Court has to inquire about the VJCS petition on Tuesday but Kodandaram filed an Implied Petition in the Court.

Prof. Kodandaram alleged that the Telangana State government’s policies were driving the farmers towards suicides. The government was not bothered about the Swamynathan Committee report, he added. He also mentioned in the petition that the farmers’ suicides were increasing in the State. “The Government would have taken steps to curb suicides. I have conducted a comprehensive survey on it. I have full report regarding it”, Prof. Kodandaram mentioned in the petition. (NSS)
