Khattar announces govt job for dependant of ‘martyred’ Rocky

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today offered a government job to one of the dependents of BSF constable Rocky, who was killed in line of duty, in a terrorist attack near Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir.

An ex-gratia of Rs 20 lakh would also be given to the martyr’s family, an official spokesperson said here.

Appreciating the exemplary courage shown by Rocky, the Chief Minister said that brave soldiers of the state were always ready to sacrifice their lives to safeguard the nation.

The Haryana government salutes the exemplary courage of its brave soldiers, Khattar added.

Two BSF constables were killed on the crucial Jammu-Srinagar highway yesterday, after two Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists fired at a BSF convoy on the highway at Simroli around 8 AM.

One of the terrorists Naved Yakub was captured alive by the villagers, while the other was shot dead by the BSF jawans.
