Kejriwal playing `game to attract cheap popularity`, says Congress

New Delhi: Terming the series of tweets made by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Somnath Bharti as a ‘game to attract cheap popularity’, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Wednesday said he would not take Kejriwal’s tweets seriously, as it was very typical of him.

“This is very typical of Kejriwal. Anything which comes to regard, blaming him and his people, he will first refuse and term it as a conspiracy against Government of India or Delhi Police. Then, when he is faced with facts, he immediately turns and tries to become a saint,” Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit told ANI.

“For a Chief Minister to defend somebody whom law questions, almost becomes that he is part into that crime. I don’t take any of his tweets seriously now. This is nothing but a game by Kejriwal to keep cheap popularity,” he added.

Kejriwal had earlier said that the former law minister Bharti, who has been booked in a domestic violence case, is becoming an embarrassment for AAP and his family, and therefore, should surrender.

“Somnath shud surrender. Why is he running away? Why is he so scared of gng to jail?,” the Delhi Chief Minister tweeted.

“Now he (Somnath Bharti) is becoming embarrassment for party n his family. He should cooperate with police (sic),” he added.

The AAP MLA is facing a non-bailable warrant against him in a domestic violence and attempt to murder case filed by his wife, Lipika Mitra. (ANI)
