Kejriwal offering sympathies to Yogendra Yadav is ‘amusing’, says BJP

New Delhi, Aug 11 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shazia Ilmi mocked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s sympathies for estranged colleague Yogendra Yadav, saying it was ‘amusing’ as the AAP chief had planned and plotted his ouster from the party.

“What’s amusing is how Kejriwal, who planned and plotted the ouster of Yogendra Yadav and Prashant bhushan is now offering them sympathies,” Ilmi told ANI here.

Ilmi, who was earlier associated with the AAP before shifting to the BJP, also alleged that Kejriwal was using the Yogendra Yadav episode to project the Delhi Police in a negative way.

“What he is doing is deliberate because he wants to gain his own mileage of making a case against the Delhi Police. Be it Prime Minister Modi or the police, Kejriwal is using all tactics possible to divert people’s attention from his own flaws,” she added.

Kejriwal had earlier condemned the police action against Yadav.

“I strongly condemn the treatment metted out to Yogendraji by Delhi police. They were protesting peacefully. It is their fundamental right,” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, senior advocate Prashant Bhushan has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court against the detention of Yadav and several others, saying the act of detention was the violation of their fundamental rights.

The ex-AAP leader was detained by the Delhi Police during a farmers’ protest at Jantar Mantar last night. (ANI)
