Kadai Chicken with Cashewnuts


1 kg – Chicken –

1 – onion(big)

1/2 – Capsicum

10 – Cashewnuts

1 tsp – Poppy Seeds (khashakhasha) powder

Ghee – a little

4 tsp – Garlic paste

2 tsp – coriander powder

2 tsp – chilli powder

6 – Tomato

1/4 cup – Ginger

4 – Green chillies

1/4 cup – Coriander leaves

Salt as require

1.5 tsp – Garam Masala

1 tsp – kasuri Methi (uluva ela)

Coriander leaves for garnishing


Boil onions in a vessel.
Make a paste of the boiled onions,poppy seeds and cashews .
Heat ghee in a pan.
Add capsicum, garlic paste and saute for 2 mins.
Add chilli powder and coriander powder and saute till the poke goes.
Add chopped tomatoes and saute.
Add ginger, coriander leaves and green chilli and saute for atleast 5 mins.
Add the chicken pieces and mix well.
Add salt as required.
Cook chicken on low flame.
Once chicken is cooked, add kasuri methi, garam masala and the boiled onion paste and mix well.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
