Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali sworn-in as Pakistan’s new Chief Justice

Karachi: Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali has been sworn-in as the new Chief Justice of Pakistan. He was administered oath of office by President Mamnoon Hussain.

According to The Dawn, Prime Ministe Nawaz Sharif was also present at the ceremony along with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Aitzaz Ahsan, former CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, senior judges and lawyers and military officials.

Chief Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja retired on Wednesday after attaining superannuation.

Justice Khawaja served as the Chief Justice for 24 days. (ANI)
