New Delhi: The Janata Dal (United) on Tuesday slammed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sakshi Maharaj for making provocative speeches regularly and said that it will raise voice against him in the winter session of the Parliament.
“Today is the day to stand against terrorism. In this time, leaders should refrain from making such statements. Sakshi Maharaj is one such person to pollute the Parliament as well as national politics. His provocative speeches not only create malice but also create problems for his party. We will raise our voice against him in the Parliament,” JD (U) leader K.C. Tyagi told ANI.
Sakshi Maharaj had earlier in the day called Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan a ‘terrorist’.
“Be it issue of Tipu Sultan or Paris Attacks, Azam Khan makes statements which give impression that he is supporting terrorists.”
Khan condemned the Paris carnage but in the same breath raked up the issue of action by the US and Russia in Arab countries, saying “killing of innocence” anywhere is “not justified”.
He came up in defence of his remark saying the media has concocted it and that he has never said that the Paris attack was a “reaction to the killing of innocents in Arab countries by the superpowers.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav came up in his support and echoed that defence.
Both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had slammed Azam Khan for his remarks and asked Akhilesh Yadav to sack him. (ANI)
