Jagan’s Hunger Strike Postponed

The Proposed indefinite huger strike of YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at Guntur has been postponed following denial of permission by the police authorities.
Jagan proposed to launch indefinite hunger strike from tomorrow at Guntur, demanding grant of ‘special status’ to Andhra Pradesh.
Police officials have taken measures to thwart any attempt by Jagan to launch the hunger strike, as YSRC leaders determined to begin the hunger strike. However, YSRC party approached the high court and filed a house motion seeking its direction to the AP government to accord permission .
The high court chief justice rejected the house motion filed by YSRC party in view of Bakrid holiday to the court.
After rejection of the plea by the high court, YSRC leaders held a meeting at Lotus pond. Later, they decided to postpone the launch of hunger strike and a final date and place would be announced later. (NSS)
