IT Technology Consultant
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
For supporting SAP Cloud and virtualization services globally. The Service Delivery Unit will be responsible for the global 24×7 delivery of services as well as the customer engagement. For this it is leveraging as a core the existing structures, resources, processes of the Global IT Infrastructure Services. .
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience is required.
DESIRED SKILLS (not mandatory):
Experience on AWS web interface will be good.
Knowledge on any automation framework such as Opscode Chef will be an added advantage.
Should have a basic knowledge on version control tool such as GITHUB, will be an added advantage.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
This position is designed to act as a highly skilled technology consultant in the area of Infrastructure Management with a focus on Virtualization. The individual will be part of a Virtualization team responsible for the operation of current and future solutions in the areas of virtualization and cloud technologies. There will be close interaction with all related SAP IT teams as well as with our internal customers.
Main responsibilities:
Operation of current and future solutions in the areas of virtualization and cloud technologies
Drive innovation to optimize, automate and standardize the operational delivery processes
Deliver and ensure high availability and stable operations
Strong collaboration with server management units in the Service Centers of Global IT IS
Strong alignment and close cooperation with internal customers and partners
Apply advanced and broad levels of technical skills effectively in the implementation of infrastructure related projects
Actively support the successful implementation of the cloud initiative
