Issues like long traffic jams, self-styled godmen raised in LS

New Delhi: Traffic jams in the national capital and issues relating to self-styled religious figures including Radhe Maa were raised in the Lok Sabha today.

Amid bedlam and sloganeering by Congress members, BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri accused the AAP government of Delhi of only indulging in theatrics and not doing anything to deal with the issue of prolonged traffic jams in the national capital.

Heavy rains have inundated many places in the national capital, giving a harrowing time to commuters, he said during Zero Hour.

Raising the issues relating to Radhe Maa and other such figures, another BJP member Jagdambika Pal demanded that the government should take stern actions against such persons who, he said, were hurting the sentiments of people.

He said many of them were facing criminal charges and the government should “take strict action against these fake godmen and women”.

BJP member Kirron Kher demanded that the government should implement One Rank One Pension (OROP) for defence personnel.

“OROP is not a question of pride, it is a question of survival,” she said, as Congress members continued to raise slogans from the Well on the Lalit Modi and Vyapam issues.

TMC member Saugata Roy refused to speak in the Zero Hour when Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai, who was in the Chair, took his name. Roy said “since the House is not in order, I would not like to speak”.
