ISIS flags in J-K: Security force capable of dealing with it, says Qamar Agha

New Delhi: Reacting on the ISIS flags being waved in Srinagar, security expert Qamar Agha on Friday said that though it is a serious thing, security force is capable of dealing with situation.

“It’s a serious thing. I am sure government would take a note of it and try to curb these activities. Our security force is capable of dealing with situation. This is not the first time,” Agha told ANI.

Agha further tried to reason out the matter, by saying that Pakistan wants to spread terror in India and the issue of ISIS flags being waved is the part of their strategy.

“These militants have been raising the Pakistani and ISIS flags for a very long time. Hurriyat is also involved in such activities. Their game plan always is to spoil the situation. Hurriyat is very disturbed, especially after the Assembly election and before the Parliament election. In both the elections, large numbers of people have turned out for voting. More than 72 percent of people had voted,” he added.

“Large numbers of people in Jammu and Kashmir want peace and stability to return. They don’t want to be guided by these elements. This could be one of the factors,” he pointed out.

Agha further said, “The other factor is in Jammu and Kashmir, all sorts of militant groups are operating. Pakistan infiltration has also increased and some of the groups may be turning to ISIS, wanting to seek support from them.”

“On the other hand, ISIS also wants some foot holding in Jammu and Kashmir, because I remember when they established the Caliphate in Moosool, Bagdadi had published a map, in which Jammu and Kashmir, part of Punjab and other areas of Gujarat were showing in that map,” he added.

On Thursday, ISIS and LeT flags were displayed in Jama Masjid area of Srinagar, raising a wave of alarm. This came a day after a Pakistani terrorist was caught alive in Udhampur. (ANI)
