Iranian actress banned from acting for posting her photo without Hijab on Facebook to protest against Iran’s Hijab law

An Iranian actress, Sadaf Taherian posted her photo without Hijab on her Facebook and Instagram accounts to register her protest at Iranian law which makes mandatory for women to wear Hijab in public.

After posting her photo without Hijab, Iran’s Ministry of Culture banned her from acting.

Taherian who faced abuse and been forced into exile in Dubai said that she does not regret her decision.

Speaking to a television show she said that she did not expected such reaction from the people of Iran. She also added she want to live in a place and live the way which makes her happy.

Talking about the sexual harassment she faced while she was working as an actress, she said that director used to keep many contracts with only one pre-condition that she should spend one month with them. “Now I want to rebuild my career in Dubai”, she said.
