Involve people in party works, Naidu tells leaders

A P Chief Minister and TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu today inaugurated party”s “Disha Nirdesh” meeting here.

Addressing at the meeting, Chandrababu Naidu said there should be involvement of people in the party works. Besides, there should be a link and rapport between the people and the party. He directed his party leaders to work in this direction. He said the State was subjected to a great injustice in the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh and the State was left with a deficit budget. All efforts were being made to increase the revenue of the State. Naidu said he was striving for all round development of the State despite the deficit budget.

The Chief Minister said his main aim was to make Andhra Pradesh a drought-free State. More importance was being given to welfare programs. The State will be one of the top three States in the country by 2022, he said. He also said there was a need to continue “Neeru-Chettu” program constantly. “Water should be provided to all lakes (chervulu) from the Galeru-Nagari, Handri-Neeva and Somasila projects. Steps should be taken to make Rayalaseema a drought-free region permanently,” he said, adding that it was TDP government which has completed interlinking works of Godavari and Krishna rivers within six months.

Expressing sympathy to the families of eight persons, who died in the recent cyclone, the Chief Minister announced an ex gratia of Rs four lakh each to the deceased families. The State government would extend financial assistance to the farmers, who lost their crops in the cyclone, he added.

Union ministers Ashok Gajapati Raju, Sujana Choudhary, State ministers K E Krishnamurthy, Chinarajappa, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh, AP TDP president Kala Venkat Rao, party senior leaders Srinivasulu, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, Maganti Srinivasul Reddy were among those attended the meeting.
