New Delhi, Aug. 17 : Former AIIMS Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) Sanjiv Chaturvedi, who has been transferred from Haryana cadre to Uttarakhand, on Monday thanked the courts for intervening in his case and said that it would have been better if the government had taken the decision.

“I am very thankful to all the courts for intervening in this matter and giving a clear verdict in May that this was a case of extreme hardship. They gave two months time to ACC and the government to make a decision considering all the merits of the case,” Chaturvedi told ANI.

“It is very sad situation. It would have been better if the government would have taken the decision by themselves as they had all the records related to the case,” he added.

The Centre approved the inter-cadre transfer of Indian Forest Service ( IFS) officer on Sunday.

The Ramon Magsaysay Award winner was given clearance for his inter-cadre deputation by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on August 12.

Earlier, Chaturvedi was removed from the post of CVO of AIIMS. This was done even though his appointment order had been for a fixed tenure of four years, ending in June 2016.

Chaturvedi was reportedly transferred numerous times for exposing scams. (ANI)
