Intense Speculation on TS Cabinet reshuffle

Despite the Minister for Irrigation and Legislative Affairs T Harish Rao’s contention yesterday that there was no truth in reports in a section of the media about the State Cabinet reshuffle, there was intense speculation over the issue among the ruling TRS Legislators today.

Though Harish Rao is close to the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and he is also his relative, his statement is not taken seriously by some of the TRS leaders and legislators.
Senior leaders of the party are of the opinion that a reshuffle of the State Cabinet is quite possible in the next one week or ten days, anyway before the Dassera festival.

The Senior leaders feel that the Chief Minister might take some important decisions relating Cabinet reshuffle, induction of two, three new faces and also dropping of an equal number of Ministers, after the TRS Legislature party meeting scheduled to take place on Thursday.

The induction of a woman MLA appears to be certain this time. The induction of K Eshwar, MLA is also stated to be imminent, as Chandrasekhar Rao himself had assured him about it at a public meeting some time back. In regard to dropping of one or two Ministers, it is said that one Minister from the City (Hyderabad) would face the axe, as there is over-representation from the city in the Cabinet.
The TRS chief had already announced his decision to fill-up the nominated posts like the Market committees, State Government Corporations, etc. A decision on nominated posts is expected to be taken within the next two, three days time. (NSS)
