Inputs suggest use of sub-conventional aerial platforms by terrorists: Govt

New Delhi: There are intelligence inputs which suggest possible use of sub-conventional aerial platforms by terrorists, Lok Sabha was informed on Tuesday.

Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary said a standard operating procedure for detection, identification and neutralisation of threat arising out of such unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is being prepared.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is in the process of formulating the regulations for certification and operation of UAV in the Indian civil airspace.

Further, DGCA has banned the use of UAV in the Indian civil airspace by any non-government agency, organisation or an individual for any purpose whatsoever till such time the regulations are finalised, he said.
