Ind-Lanka Test series will be a close one, says Sehwag

Out-of-favour India opener Virender Sehwag today said India’s upcoming tour to Sri Lanka will be a closely-fought affair but hoped the visitors would emerge on top in the three-Test rubber, starting August 12 in Galle.

“There are many young and talented players in the team and the contest is going to be a close one,” Sehwag said during a promotional event here.

India will play three Tests in Sri Lanka. The first Test begins at Galle on August 12, followed by two matches at Colombo, on August 20 and 28, respectively.

The flamboyant batsman from Delhi was apparently mobbed by his fans while he was taking a stroll in the city’s Ram Manohar Lohia park in Gomtinagar area.

While there was a mad rush to take a selfie with the cricketer, some fans also raised slogans “Sehwag come back”.
