Minority Welfare Department has decided to issue scholarship to more eligible candidates under Overseas Scholarship Scheme. Preparation of final list is under progress. Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel told that altogether 510 minority students had submit applications of which 210 were selected in the first phase. Minority Welfare Department had given time to remaining students to produce necessary documents. Further more students are said to have been submitted the documents hence they are selected for scholarship.
Secretary Minority Welfare informed that government would pay Rs. 1000 as monthly honourariam to Imams and Muezzins from January next year, for which Minority Welfare Department has Rs. 12 Cr in its exchequer. Guidelines have been formulated in this connection and notification will be issued within 10 days after getting Ulamas’ approval.
