Imams of mosques will get honorarium from 1st August

Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana has invited applications from Imams and Muazzins of mosques for giving honorarium to them. Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare told that Govt. has allocated Rs. 12 crore for this purpose. Imams and Muazzins of mosques will get Rs. one thousand each as honorarium. Five thousand mosques will be covered under this scheme. Only such of the mosque which are registered with Wakf Board will get this benefit. Wakf Board will issue a notification within a week inviting applications from the mosques. This scheme is purely voluntary. There is no compulsion on any mosque.

 

It may be noted that Mr. KCR arranged Iftar for 195 mosque in Telangana State and distributed clothes for 1, 95, 000 families. For this purpose Govt. had allocated Rs. 14 crore.
