A four-day-old baby girl was abandoned by the roadside in Vanasthalipuram. The infant was found by an autorickshaw driver alive in a travel bag near Sagar Crossroads.
“The man approached the bag as it was half open and he could hear a baby crying. The parents must have abandoned the baby not more than a couple of hours before Mahesh found her,” the police said.
Driver Mahesh, a resident of Vanasthalipuram found the baby on a footpath near Sagar cross roads at around 6 am. The police shifted the girl child to hospital and doctors said that she was is a healthy state.
The baby has now been shifted to the children’s hospital in Ameerpet area. Police suspect that the baby must have been abandoned by the parents as it was a girl.
