How Jake Gyllenhaal suffered depression while filming ‘Everest’

New Delhi, Aug. 31 : Jake Gyllenhaal, who is known to play intense characters in his movies, was in severe depression while shooting for film’Everest’, which is based on a true story of 1996 Mt. Everest disaster.

According to Universal Pictures India, to prepare for their roles, the 34-year-old actor and his co-star Josh Brolin had jumped into an altitude simulator, after which they went into a severe depression when they came out after three days.

Talking about his experience, The ‘Southpaw’ actor said that they had stayed in altitude simulator for too long because they were enjoying there, adding that they were between 26,000 and 36,000 feet.

Directed by Baltasar Kormakur, the movie depicts the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind.

The movie, which was shot in Nepal, will hit the Indian theaters in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on September 18, 2015. (ANI)
