Houses allocation by Centre unfair: Talasani

Commercial Taxes and Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today criticized the Centre for showing step-motherly attitude towards Telangana State with respect to allocation of houses for the poor across the nation.

Reacting to the Centre’s allocation of only 10,000 houses for Telangana and some 1.90 lakh houses to Andhra Pradesh State, Srnivas Yadav expressed displeasure at the partisan attitude of the Union government. The housing for all facility is under Urban Development Ministry headed by M Venkaiah Naidu is showing partiality towards Telangana State, he alleged. He found fault with the meager allocation of the houses to Telangana which also needs lakhs of houses to cater to the poor dwellers.

Reacting on protests, Talasani said the issues relating to Asha Workers, MSP for cotton and SC categorization are under the Centre’s purview. The State Government has no role to take a decision on these three issues, he said. The Telangana Government passed a Bill in favour of categorization, he stated. If the BJP leaders have guts, they should get it passed in Parliament, he challenged. He also flayed the Congress leaders Jana Reddy and S Jaipal Reddy for not talking on the issue during their rule. The minister condemned the criticism by the Opposition parties on these issues. The BJP leaders have no right to talk on crop loan waiver issue for which they did not impress the Centre to give funds, he deplored. (NSS)
