Honorarium for Anganwadi workers enhanced: Kadiyam

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari has informed that the honorarium to Anganwadi workers and helpers has been enhanced in the Telangana State.

In his reply to a question raised by TRS MLA Guvvala Balaraju and others during Question Hour in Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, the Deputy CM informed that the government vide GO. Ms. No. 15, dated 23-0502015, has enhanced the honorarium to the Anganwadi workers, helpers and Mini Anganwadi workers from Rs. 4,200, Rs. 2200 and Rs. 2200 to Rs. 7,000, Rs. 4,500 and Rs. 4,500 respectively. The total burden on the State Government is Rs. 205.08 crore due to the enhancement of honorarium, he said.

Kadiyam also said that the Central Government is providing 90% funds towards Anganwadis till 2014-15. The pattern of assistance to Anganwadis from Government of India for 2015-16 si not finalised. During the year 2015-16, the Centre has so far released Rs. 79.91 crore. The Government of India is providing Rs. 2700 per month as honorarium to each Anganwadi worker out of Rs. 7,000 per month and Rs. 1350 per month out of Rs. 4,500 p.m. as honorarium to each Mini Anganwadi worker and helper.
