Faridkot: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi met the family members of Gurjeet Singh Bittu, who was killed in the agitation over the desecration of the holy text Guru Granth Sahib, here on Thursday.
The angry protesters have been demanding the arrest of those behind disrespect to the holy book and the policemen, who were involved in the firing on a mob in Faridkot that killed two persons.
On Saturday, Sikhs from across Europe, Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, England, Belgium, Holland, Greece, Portugal and Spain stood in unity in front of the United Nations in Geneva to register their protest over the current state of affairs in Punjab.
The Congress Party has criticised the Prakash Singh Badal-led government in Punjab for the ongoing protests in the state, saying that lack of governance had led to such a situation. (ANI)
