Job Description:
As the Lead Software Engineer, you will be part of the Informatica Data Archive R&D team within the DSG Business unit. You will be part of the component Informatica Data Vault (IDV) which move archive data to a highly compressed (up to 98 percent), secure data store while preserving source data structures for search and reporting. You will report to the Manager Development of Data Archive R&D team and work closely with R&D and Product Managers to bring the quality product to market.

Your Responsibility:
As part of the Development team, you will be responsible for
Features or component development
May author functional or design specifications or sections of larger specifications. Gathers review feedback and finalizes specifications.
Produces implementations from existing functional specifications and designs. Able to design small areas of code.
Implement, unit test, and bug-fix well-defined functionality that satisfies stipulated requirements. Deliverable reviews result in rework, as errors are detected.
Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.
Suggests new implementation mechanisms for enhancement requests.
Able to produce reasonable estimates for small to medium sized tasks.
Participates in reviews of related components.
Able to work independently with little direct supervision and take initiative
Contact with others is primarily internal. Communicates where necessary to complete feature work in hand. Interacts with other groups on same components as required. Works effectively with all team members and proactively communicates within and across teams to discuss problems and solutions.
Reviews QA test specifications and feature documents.
Understands impact of work on the feature/product/team
Working on scalable, highly available and high performance multi-threaded servers.

Qualifications:
6 – 8 years of experience in analysis, design and development of enterprise products
Strong expertise in Objected Oriented Design, Design Patterns and programming
Excellent problem solving, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Strong expertise in Data Structures, Algorithms and Complexity Analysis
Strong programming skills in C++ and expertise in multi-threaded development.
Ability to react quickly to changing requirements due to product limitations or driven by enterprise needs
Strong experience in development tools and IDEs like Microsoft Visual Studio, Perforce
Extensive experience in at least one of the following databases: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Sybase
Solid understanding of database theory, query processing, SQL, ODBC API.
Passion for developing high quality products and experience with Unit testing
Advanced server and data processing techniques across architectures like SMP, Cluster and Grid systems.
Good knowledge of working in a Unix environment (shell scripts, build systems) is a plus
Knowledge of Java is a plus.
Experience of Agile methodologies
BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline; advanced degree a plus
