Hindu body activists disrupt play staged by Pak artistes

Gurgaon: Activists of a Hindu right wing late on Saturday evening allegedly disrupted a play staged by a Pakistani group at an open theatre in Gurgaon’s Laser valley.

“North Foundation Group from Lahore were staging a play ‘Baanjh’ at the theatre at Sector 29, when 4-5 activists of some Hindu right wing climbed on the stage and started raising slogans ‘India Zindabad’,” said S.S. Rohilla, Public Relation Officer of the Gurgaon Nagar Nigam here.

“Our volunteers swung into action immediately and removed them from the stage,” he said, adding that the play was resumed after the activists were removed.

Witness, however, said the activists claimed that they were members of the Shiv Sena.

When asked if he had sought police protection for the Pakistani artistes, Rohilla said cops were deployed for their protection, but at the time of attack they were not there.

However, no complaint was registered in this connection. (ANI)
