A Hijab wearing Muslim girl by name Tasneem Kabir (16) was knocked unconscious on her way to college. The culprit Michael Ayoade, was sentenced to four years jail. It is the result of Islamaphobic offences which are on the rise in London City. In such cases more than 60% of the victims are women who wear hijab.
Tasneem Kabir got her teeth broken and her lip was smashed. She was going to college in Plaistow, Newham.
Miss Kabir’s assault is an example of the Islamaphobic attacks being investigated in Inside Out London Special, which has been aired on BBC London.
