Higher Studies Abroad – 280 Minorities students selected

Hyderabad: Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Secretary, Department of Minorities Welfare informed that earlier 258 students were selected under Study Abroad Scheme for Minorities keeping 97 applicants on waiting list whereas 158 applications were rejected on various reasons. Since some of the students have completed the formalities, the selected applications increased to 280. Govt. of Telangana is giving Rs. 10 lakh and one airfare to each student.

 

Mr. Omer Jaleel said that after joining the foreign university, the students have to submit admission card and boarding card of the airline online after which the first installment of Rs. 5 lakh and the amount of airfare would be credited into their bank account. The list of selected candidates can be seen on website http://telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in/. The next phase of applications will be received in January 2016. The students who seek admissions in America, UK, Australia, Canada and Singapore are eligible to apply under this scheme.
