High-level committee to study lorry owners’ demands

The Telangana Government on Monday constituted a seven-member committee to study 10 out of 11 demands made by the Telangana Lorry Owners Association.

The Association had withdrawn the strike on June 25 following an assurance from the government that it would consider their demands. Subsequently, the State Government has decided to constitute a high-level committee to study the demands submitted by the Association.

The Committee will be headed by Principal Secretary, TR&B Dept., as its Chairman. Principal Secretaries Revenue (CT) and Industries (Mining), Secretaries to Government of Finance, Labour and Law will be the members. The Transport Commissioner will be the Member Convener.

The committee has been asked to submit its report within three weeks. (INN)
