High Court Directs TS, AP Govts to Suspend Corrupt Officials

The Hyderabad High Court has directed both the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states to suspend the corrupt officials, who were causing suicide of the farmers.

The High Court continued its trial on the suicides of the farmers on second day on Tuesday. A two-member Bench consisting of Chief Justice Dileep B Bhosale, and Justice SV Bhat has taken up trial of the case. The Court made it clear that the aim of taking up of trial of the Su-moto case on farmers suicides was only to stop the suicides.

The lawyers from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states have explained to the Court that they were taking up several farmer welfare schemes. Reacting sharply, the Court has opined that the schemes were good, but they were not enough, and questioned the lawyers whether the schemes were reaching the farmers or not. The Court directed the state governments to provide extensive campaign to the schemes and how to avail the schemes introduced by the governments. The Court said that Telangana Political JAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram’s suggestions in this regard were quite good. (NSS)
