Has KCR family cleaned itself of its sins? Asks Ponnam

Congress senior leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar has strongly condemned TRS MP K Kavitha’s remarks wherein she asked AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to take a holy dip in Godavari River to cleanse himself from the sins committed towards farmers.

Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises on Monday, Ponnam asked how many sins Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, his son K Tarakama Rao and his daughter Kavitha washed off by taking a holy dip during Godavari Pushkaraulu. He alleged that KCR family was responsible for hundreds of suicides by students and youth before formation of Telangana. Similarly, it was KCR family that drove hundreds of farmers to suicide after coming to power. Therefore, first KCR family needs to cleanse itself of its sins, he said.

Ponnam also accused KCR of running the administration in an immature manner. Instead of focusing on completion of pending projects, the Chief Minister is inclined towards laying foundations for new projects and launching a new scheme every other day. He ridiculed the announcement of a new scheme “Grama Jyouthi” and asked from where the government would mobilise Rs. 25,000 crore as it had recently borrowed Rs. 1400 crore from the open market. (INN)
