Harish slams Congress for opposing design change of irrigation projects

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today slammed Congress leaders for objecting to design change for irrigation projects. Harish Rao vowed that they will complete the irrigation projects by changing the designs to supply waters to more crops despite Congress creating hurdles with mischievous designs.

Harish Rao held a review meeting of Ranga Reddy district along with Minister Mahender Reddy and leaders and officials here and discussed about Palamur-Ranga Reddy lift irrigation project, Pranahitha-Chevella project, Dindi and others and welfare schemes.

Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao lashed out at the Congress for failing to complete a single project and did not prevent illegal projects such as Pulichintala and Pothireddypadu. The Congress has no right to talk on Pranahitha project as the previous government did not conduct a review on it, he said. The Congress, which was conspiring against the projects, caught in the web of confusion as it will lose the base if the projects in Telangana are completed. “Our efforts are on to provide irrigation waters to an increased ayacut and help the farmers to reap in benefits. By doing so, we will supply waters to 2.75 lakh acres in Ranga Reddy district alone”, he maintained. He also asked the Congress and others to refrain from making such comments which may invite peoples’ wrath. Due to political unemployment, the Congress leaders were conducting protests against the government, he quipped. (NSS)
