Harish Rao throws challenge at TPCC Chief

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao on Monday asked whether TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy would resign from his post if the Congress party loses Warangal by-elections.

Addressing the election meeting of TRS candidate P. Dayakar in Desaipet in Warangal, Harish Rao alleged that the opposition parties have fielded Congress and BJP candidates in the Warangal by-elections. He said that the people have rejected the Congress, BJP and other parties in 2014 elections. However, they have been participating in the by-elections only for their survival. He said both Congress and BJP could not find a local candidate and therefore, they fielded non-local leaders.

Harish Rao claimed that the TRS candidate would win the by-elections with a thumping majority.

Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, Panchayat Raj Minister K. Tarakarama Rao, MLAs Vinay Bhaskar and Konda Surehka, Rajya Sabha MP G. Sudha Rani and other leaders also addressing the meeting. (INN)
