Marketing Minister T Harish Rao today directed Mahabubnagar district officials to provide employment to Chand Shafi a migrant labour of Utkur (near Narayanpet) who lost his wife after delivery on Thursday. Shafi now has three children including the new born baby. It may be noted that Shafi was getting back to Utkoor from Hyderabad and was seen bemoaning at the death of his wife after delivering a baby at Mahabubnagar bus stand. Moved at the scene, some persons contributed about Rs 8,000 and gave to Shafi to perform final rites at Utkoor.
Reacting swiftly on the pathetic incident, the minister asked the marketing department officials to submit a report and asked to provide Shafi a job at Narayanapet market yard. He directed the officials to give orders to this extent by next Monday Sept 7. (NSS)
