Hamilton has `no confidence` Mercedes will reassert F1 monopoly at Japanese GP

London: Reigning Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton has revealed that he was concerned with Mercedes’ poor showing in Singapore and said that he has no confidence that the German car manufacturer would be able to reassert their dominance in this week’s Japanese Grand Prix.

Hamilton was forced to retire from the Marina Bay circuit after his Mercedes car suffered a throttle malfunction , which reduced the Briton’s championship lead over nearest challenger Nico Rosberg to 41 points.

Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel claimed his third win of the season after cruising to victory.

Commenting on his winning prospects in Japan, Hamilton said that he didn’t have any confidence to suggest that Mercedes’ sudden loss of form wouldn’t be repeated at Suzuka, the Guardian reported.

Hamilton further said that he hoped it was a one-off in Singapore, adding that he was waiting for an explanation from his team. (ANI)
