Hamalis to get Health cards, housing facility: Harish

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today announced sops to marketyard hamali workers with health facility in ESI and try to provide double bedroom houses.

Inaugurating BR Ambedkar Vegetable Market Yard at Bowenpally in Secunderabad along with minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and T. Padma Rao Goud here, Harish Rao said he would talk to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for providing double bedroom houses for the Hamali workers. “Srinivas Yadav and Padma Rao Goud” should show the land for the housing facility” he said. So far, only 200 workers applied for insurance and other should also apply for the same, he said directing to set up health dispensary and announced to set up another cold storage plant.

Gaddi Annaram Fruit Market will be shifted soon to Koheda area in Ranga Reddy district wherein a big market with international standards will be built in 100 acres. He also said fruit ripening chambers will be used to avoid the use of carbide here. He asked the officials to talk to the ESI officials to give health cards to the hamali workers. Online facility at three market yards fetched Rs 2.69 crore revenue, he said. Harish Rao said 44 agriculture market yards in the State will be linked with the National Agriculture Market Committee. He also said Rs 1,024 crore will be spent on constructing 330 storage houses to store 17 lakh tons of farm produce. Many investors are looking at Telangana as Chennai was battered in rains, Delhi caught in smog and Vizag suffered a cyclone, he added. (NSS)
