The JD(U) led Grand Alliance and the BJP-led NDAappeared to be involved in a close fight in the BiharAssembly elections after more trends were available in the counting of votes that began this morning.
The Grand Alliance of JD(U)-RJD and Congress, which appeared trailing in the first one hour of trends, now seemed to be in the fight.
A few channels showed the Grand Alliance in the lead while others put the NDA ahead.
While one channel showed the Grand Alliance ahead in 85 seats as against 77 of NDA among 166 seats, another showed the Grand Alliance clocking between 99 to 106 seats against 90 to 91 of the NDA.
Trends of the 58 seats available on the ElectionCommission website showed BJP ahead in 20, RJD leading in 18 seats each, Janta Dal United in 10, Congressin 4 and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustan Awam Morcha in two.
