Panchayat Raj Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Tuesday said that the State Government has launched Grama Jyothi programme for integrated and comprehensive development of rural areas in Telangana State.
Replying to a question raised by MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy and others during Question Hour in Legislative Assembly, the minister said that the Grama Jyothi seeks to empower Gram Panchayats by enabling them to take decisions in the Gram Sabha. He said the needs identified would be prioritised and linked to the pooled funds made available at the Panchayat level. He said detailed guidelines have been issued vide GO. MS.
