Govt. of Telangana is not serious about Muslim reservations – Aziz Pasha

Hyderabad: Addressing the Round Table Conference of All India Muslim Minority Organization in Hyderabad yesterday, former CPI MP of Rajya Sabha, Mr. Syed Aziz Pasha told that Govt. of Telangana is not serious about providing reservation to Muslims. It is not making an attempt seriously to fulfill its election promise. Sudheer Committee has no legal status. The officials of Govt. of Telangana are claiming to provide reservations to Muslims under IX Schedule which is an unconstitutional and an undemocratic step which could easily be challenged in a court of law. Justice Ranganatha Mishra, has clearly indicated in his report that the Muslims should be provided reservations according to their populations to ensure equal justice.

 

He announced that he would support any campaign organized by INSAAF organization or Communist Party of India for providing reservation to Muslims.

 

Mr. Muqtar Husain, Chairman, All India Muslim Minority Organization welcomed the announcement of Mr. Aziz Pasha. He threatened that Govt. of Telangana would be gheraoed on this account. Former member of Minority Commission, Mr. M.A. Siddiqui stressed the need to provide 12% reservation to Muslims. Mr. Sanaullah Khan, Chief Convener of SC, ST, BC and Muslim Front told that struggle against the Govt. is necessary for getting reservation for Muslims.
