Minority Welfare Department has prepared a special scheme to provide quality education to poor minority students in private schools. The scheme awaits government’s approval. Such scheme already exists for SCs, STs in the state.

Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel has prepared separate scheme for minorities on the lines of SC ST Scheme and sent to Chief Minister’s office for approval. Under the scheme special quota will be fixed for minority students in reputed schools and colleges with high standard. Government will bear the expenditure incurred on the students. This scheme is in force for other communities for long but minorities were deprived of that. The scheme has been named Best Available School Scheme which will be implemented from next year onwards subject to its approval.

Under the scheme such students of poor families will be selected who do not afford to pay private school fee.
