New Delhi: The programme ‘Niryat Bandhu @ Your Desktop’ will enable exporters and importers to learn the essentials of trading, the Commerce ministry said in a statement.
The certificate programme was launched by Commerce Secretary Rita Teaotia under the Niryat Bandhu Scheme of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
The objective of the scheme is to reach out to the new and potential exporters and mentor them through orientation programmes and counselling sessions so that they can get into international trade and help in boosting exports.
As part of the new foreign trade policy, the Department of Commerce has decided to galvanise the scheme and reposition it to achieve the objectives of ‘Skill India’.
“With this objective, the DGFT has now collaborated with Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) to launch this online programme for exporters and entrepreneurs,” it said.
A digital resource library would also be available to them online and this programme would serve the twin objective of ‘Digital India’ and ‘Skill India’, it added.
The first course with a capacity of 60 participants would begin from October. It is planned to have a similar programme every month for a batch of 60 participants.
Online registration for the programme can be done from tomorrow.
