Govt. firm on its election promise to provide 12% reservation to Muslims – Harish Rao

Hyderabad: 12% reservations would be given to Muslims at any cost. After receiving Sudheer Committee Report, a bill would be presented in Telangana Assembly or after consultation with Advocate General, the formation of BCs Commission would be ensured. TRS Govt. won’t detract from its election promise to provide 12% reservation for Muslims. Govt. is taking concrete steps for the welfare of Muslims. These thoughts were expressed by Mr. T. Harish Rao, Irrigation Minister while talking to Siasat News yesterday. He further told that in connection with providing 12% reservations for Muslims, Sudheer Committee was formed which consists of eminent personalities like Dr. Shahban and Dr. Ameerullah Khan. Sudheer Committee is preparing various proposals to give adequate share to the Muslims in every field of life. He also said that Sudheer Committee would consult various eminent personalities of the country which includes Justice Rajendra Singh Sacchar and Justice Kailash Nath Katju. Govt. of Telangana has decided to develop the status of Muslims. It is spending crores of rupees in the field of education to uplift the Muslims. Overseas scholarship amounting to Rs. 10 lakh has been provided. First installment of this grant has already been issued to 210 selected candidates. There was a proposal to setup six residential school in Telangana State but Mr. KCR has decided to establish 60 English medium schools for the students belonging to Minorities.

Mr. Harish Rao further told that Mr. KCR visited Aneesul Ghurba Orphanage located at Nampally and met the children. He decided to acquire 1000 sq. yards of land belonging to R&B for the construction of a new building for this orphanage. Govt. also sanctioned Rs. 9.6 crore to Jamia Nizamia for the construction of seminar hall and other developmental works. He mentioned that Shaadi Mubarak Scheme is being applauded throughout the country in which Rs. 51000 are being credited directly into the account of the bride. Fulfilling his promise, Mr. KCR appointed Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Dy. CM of Telangana State.
