Govt. fails to take good care of Asif Jahi shrines

Public viewing of shrines of Asif Jahi rulers located in the courtyard of Makkah Masjid has been banned and the musallis are not allowed to stay in that area. The main reason behind this is said to be the precariousness of the structure. No orders have been issued by the concerned departments but Makkah Masjid staff fear its collapse as the plaster of the roof of the shrines of Asif Jahi rulers is gradually falling off. Negligence of Archaeology department and Minority Welfare Department is posing threat to the very existence of Makkah Masjid. The inside area of the historical Makkah Masjid is deteriorating day by day and despite repeated representations no action is being taken.

A large number of tourists gather near the shrines of Asif Jahi rulers located in Makkah Masjid courtyard and watch the beautiful carving on the shrines but it seems that Minority Welfare Department and Archaeological Department by continuously neglecting the structure are waiting for their collapse.
