Godman’ held for killing two persons in Maharashtra

Thane (Maha): A 40-year-old ‘godman’ was today arrested by police for allegedly killing two persons.
The ‘godman’ had killed the two persons as he was unable to return the money taken from them, police said.
Abdul Aziz Chotu Shaikh, a resident of Sewree, was held this morning from Haji Malang hills in the district, DCP Crime Parag Manere and ACP Crime Nagesh Lohar told reporters at a joint press briefing.
A bag comprising lemon, nails, turmeric, ash, kumkum, powder, black dolls, snake skin and other things were recovered from him. He used the said material to perform black magic, they said.
On October 4, two unidentified bodies were found with injury marks in Bhiwandi crematorium and items used for black magic were scattered around them, he said.
A case under relevant sections of IPC was registered then. During probe, it came to light that the deceased were promised to be made rich by the accused using black magic. As the things did not materialise, the duo wanted Rs 41,00 each back from the ‘godman’ which they paid him in advance, police said.
Prima facie, after this, the ‘godman’ who was unable to return them money killed them using a hammer, knife and stone, the officers said.
