The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) have entered an agreement for direct procurement of diesel and other oils for the GHMC vehicles.
This process will be started from 17th December and the move would save around Rs. 1.6 crores to the Corporation every year. At present, the GHMC is issuing around 30,000 litres per day to the garbage lifting vehicles. The GHMC is providing diesel to the vehicles through private petrol bunks with coupons. Through the this MoU, the GHMC will save Rs. 1.40 paisa for each litre and around Rs. 43,000/- will be saved per day or Rs. 1.58 crores per year. (INN)
