GHMC chief seeks suggestions on ‘Smart Cities’

GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy has appealed all the citizens, Residential Welfare Associations and various NGOs of the twin cities to come forward with their suggestions with regard to make the Smart Cities programme a grand success.

The Commissioner has interacted with the citizens on the website and said inspite of best efforts being made by the GHMC, it is unable to cope up with the various civic related issues in a phased manner. There is every need for the citizens’ participation to turn Hyderabad into a Smart City. He said not only suggestions from the citizens, but also active participation of the citizens plays a vital role in making the city in to a smart city.

Today it is observed more waste, more water, more pollution, traffic congestions tremendous challenges are head keeping in view of the problems the Government of India has taken up the smart city project to create huge infrastructure, drinking water arrangements, providing drainage, sports facilities for a citizens to livable, safe, comfortable to lead the life in a more comfortable manner without any inconvenience.

During interaction, some of the citizens responded and given their suggestions which were noted by the Commissioner who requested them to cooperate and join hands with GHMC in making City more clean and green. (INN)
