GHMC aims to increase poll percentage

GHMC Commissioner and District Election Officer Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy said that the GHMC was striving its level best to increase the poll percentage in the forthcoming GHMC elections by taking up various publicity, awareness campaigns duly involving the Residential Welfare Associations and various other organisations and Self Help Groups.

The GHMC is also taking up publicity campaigns through hoardings duly involving electronic and print media to create awareness about the importance of voting to improve the poll percentage. The DEO informed that 7,500 polling stations have been provided for the enrollment of voters which would continue till the notification is issued.

After the inclusion of new voters, there will be an increase in votes in some wards. In case of number of voters exceeding 1250, additional polling stations will be set up. (INN)
