Generate more power thru’ thermal units: KCR

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has said more power should be generated through Thermal Power Plants as there was no chance of generating hydro power as there was no water in the reservoirs. He also said the Power department would purchase power in open market to cater to the needs of consumers.

            According to a pressnote, the Chief Minister held a review meeting this morning with Genco CMD D Prabahakar Rao. Stating that there was no chance of generating power in the Nagarajuna Sagar and Srisailam reservoirs, he asked the officials to supply adequate power to agriculture. He also said 24-hour power supply should be maintained to the domestic and commercial needs. The Chief Minister suggested to the officials to prepare an action plan for the power usage for the Kharif season and implement the same. (NSS)
