Visakhapatnam: The police city task force seized 34 kg of dry ganja and Rs 1,05,500 in cash from four people who were arrested at Aganampudi area in Vizag city, a police announced here today.
Acting on a tip-off, the police team led by police inspector Syed Mohammad Eliyas intercepted an autorickshaw at Aganampudi toll gate, seized the contraband and arrested the smugglers.
Those arrested have been identified as Bolem Kannababu and Chittiboyina Ganesh of Kobbarithota area from Vizag as well as Bhethu Mandal and Suraj Kumar from Bihar.
The ganja was packed neatly in two-kilogram packets and stacked in a specially fabricated box under the driver’s seat.
The arrested men and the seized contraband have been handed over to the Duvvada police station for further investigation, the police said.
