Former Wing Commander sentenced to jail

Bengaluru :A former Wing Commander who worked at the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) here has been sentenced by a CBI court to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for five years on the charge of making false claims of TA and DA for his official journeys.

Convicting K.S.Tewari, who was the Deputy Chief Communications Pilot at HAL complex here, CBI Special Judge Pradeep S Balikai in his order yesterday also slapped a fine of Rs 4 lakh for each of the punishable offences under different sections of IPC, including 420 (cheating), and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
